Westerly

Once an old mill and granite quarry town, Westerly is now a thriving, art-centric community and coveted travel destination on the Pawcatuck River, dividing Rhode Island and Connecticut. Home to the Granite Theatre, the United Theatre, Martin House Bookstore, Cafe 1888, Wilcox Park, and Westerly Pops, our coastal town boasts fabulous restaurants and shops, all within walking distance of the Margin Street Inn. A short drive or boat ride down the river from the Inn leads to the historic village of Watch Hill, home to the oldest flying horse carousel and a lighthouse overlooking Montauk and Block Island with its world-famous beaches. Stonington and Mystic are only minutes away. Westerly is conveniently located halfway between New York City and Boston, making it an easy weekend getaway.

Stonington

Just south of Westerly and minutes from The Margin Street Inn, this charming and historic seaside village is the oldest Borough in Connecticut with panoramic views of CT, RI and NY. Yankee Magazine voted Stonington one of the “Top 10 Prettiest Coastal Towns in New England.” With its many excellent restaurants and wonderfully eclectic shops such as antiques stores, boutiques, jewelry and clothing stores, the Borough is a must see destination.

Mystic

Settled in 1654, Mystic was once a shipbuilding seaport village and a safe harbor for tall ships to weather a storm. Today, the shoreline community with iconic Mystic Draw Bridge is reminiscent of its rich maritime past, but clad with quintessential New England charm. Old sea captain’s homes dot the scenic roads along the Mystic River just outside of Downtown’s booming cultural and food and drink scenes.
